Getting Started

Installation, account setup

Bite is live on the App Store. Tap here to download or search "Bite Fishing" in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

The app is completely free with no card required to sign up.

Android users can access the full Bite experience through our web app at bite-v1.vercel.app. Open it in Chrome and tap "Add to Home Screen" for a native install feel.

A dedicated Android app is on the roadmap for later this year.

Bite is free to download and use. Core features (hotspot map, catch journal, live conditions, social feed, regulations, waypoints) are free forever with no card required.

Bite Pro is $14.99/month or $69.99/year and unlocks Pablo AI (unlimited), Kelp Paddy Tracker, Bait Ball AI, 2× XP, and early access.

Bite Pro & Billing

Subscriptions, trials, cancellations, refunds

Open Bite on your iPhone → Profile → Upgrade to Pro → Start Free Trial. The trial runs for 7 days. You can cancel anytime before day 7 and won't be charged.

Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple. On your iPhone:

  • Open Settings → Tap your name at the top
  • Tap Subscriptions → Find Bite
  • Tap Cancel Subscription

You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Subscription refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID you used to subscribe.

If Apple denies your refund and you believe it was justified, email us and we'll do what we can to help.

Try Profile → Settings → Restore Purchases. This pulls your subscription status fresh from Apple. If that doesn't work, fully close and reopen the app.

Still locked? Email us with your account email and we'll fix it on the backend.

Pablo AI

The AI fishing guide

Pablo is an AI fishing guide powered by Anthropic. He has context about your current location, live conditions (tide, pressure, solunar), and behavior profiles for 110+ species. Ask him about bait selection, rigging, regulations, technique, or anything fishing-related.

Free users get 1 question per week. Bite Pro gets unlimited questions.

If Pablo isn't responding, check your network connection. AI requires internet access.

Pablo is an AI — he's good but not perfect. Always cross-reference important info (especially regulations) with your state's fish and wildlife department before acting on it.

If Pablo gave consistently wrong info on a topic, let us know at theofficialbiteapp@gmail.com.

Merch Orders

Shirts, shipping, sizing, returns

Bite tees are fulfilled by Printful. Production takes 2-5 business days, shipping is typically another 3-5 business days in the US. Total: about 5-10 business days from order to delivery.

Shipping is free on all orders.

The Bite Tee runs true to size with a regular unisex fit. If you're between sizes, size up. The shirts are 100% cotton and pre-shrunk.

Available in S through 3XL across all four colors (White, Butter, Ash, Black).

Email us at theofficialbiteapp@gmail.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll send a replacement at no cost within 30 days of delivery.

Tracking emails come from Printful once your shirt ships. Check your spam folder. If it's been more than 10 business days since order, email us with your order number and we'll track it down.

Account & Privacy

Login, data, deletion

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" and follow the email instructions. The reset link is valid for 24 hours.

Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, catches, waypoints, and chat history. The action cannot be undone.

If you also have an active Pro subscription, cancel it through Apple first.

The bare minimum to make the app work: your email, your location (only while using the app, never in background), the catches you choose to log, and the messages you send to Pablo.

We don't sell your data. Waypoints are private by default. See our full privacy policy.

Bug Reports & Feedback

Crashes, glitches, feature requests

First try: fully close and reopen the app. If that doesn't fix it, uninstall and reinstall from the App Store.

Still crashing? Email us with: your iPhone model, iOS version, what you were doing when it crashed, and a screenshot if you have one. We ship fixes weekly.
